Traffic, as the most prominent and objective principle of urban management, is in constant interconnection and interaction with a complex set of social, cultural and economic relationships. Since the decline in livelihoods, the population living in informal settlements cannot be resolved in the urban system and, on the other hand, cannot be returned to the countryside in most cases, this situation can pose a major threat to the overall social structure. To create. This is a descriptive-analytical study that relies on two methods of library and field research. In this study, the effect of independent variable namely traffics management and transportation on dependent variable namely population viability in informal settlements of Birjand was investigated by gathering information through questionnaire and Pearson correlation test. The results show that traffic management and urban transport can affect up to 65% of the population sustainability, of which 27% through traffic culture such as education and the role of the media, 24% through improved patterns. Traffic such as changes in certification practices and 14% are caused by the proper implementation of the rules.
